A cloud with a silver lining...
.
..

Most people would consider my technique to be really
ass-backwards, here - the above is a Photoshop 'sketch' of what I afterwards
printed in the darkroom.
The moment I saw this (crude as it is),
I knew there was 'somethin' goin' on'.... that deserved more work.

Here's the carousel neg, taken w/ a Pentax 6x7, 55mm lense....
which is *one incredibly sweet* lense!
It's reeeeally wide, w/ no perceptible distortion, and sharp as a tack.

Here's my test print (dodging back some of the sky, upper left)
of the stormy sky/Nevada landscape
(also taken w/ the Pentax 6x7, w/ 55mm lense)
There's not much 'going on' in the lower 1/4 of this neg,
no surprise, if my exposure was for the sky, which it was.

Time for something else... like maybe this image...

Which ended me up making a print like this...

And a handcolored version, below.
I haven't done any handcoloring in a decade, I decided recently that was a mistake!
This print is on an RC based/pearl surface, NOT a handcoloring artist's choice
but I just had to try it.
More on handcoloring, coming soon.

I also spent some time 'hand coloring' digitally...
To me, it just seems sooo much easier to do it the old fashioned way.

If I can find a silver lining in a cloud...
what more could I ask for?

If you can find a silver lining in a cloud...?
More power to you! It's a nice skill to have now,
what with all the 'storms threatening our life today'.

'Gimme Shelter' / Rolling Stones / several versions - Enjoy!
