The 'vehicle' (shot at Bodie, Ca.).
The sky
The sky exposure, above. This shows how i have dodged out the bottom,
to blend with the foreground,
also dodged back in the middle to accomodate the traffic sign below.
You'll notice that I flopped the traffic sign -
the position in my sketch was kind of provisional, I knew it was the right thing
to be in the background, wasn't sure about it's exact place.
I wanted the wire to stretch into the diagonal cloud, suggesting that maybe it was
'connected' in some way.

There were also two alternates, below. The difference between all three
being the position of the traffic sign - one was too high, the other too low...
the final above is 'just right', and the lightest area in the clouds
just below the sign draws your eye in, and into the distance.
