I hit the road shortly afternoon, on Monday 12/22/03 - destination - Joshua Tree, CA.

Weather forecasts showed big bad storms approaching the California coast - I wanted to be ahead of the bad weather, and all the nuts in SUV's who think driving 85mph on slick roads with minimum visibility is acceptable vehicular behavior.....

I holed up in Bakersfield on Monday night, and arrived in J.T. on Tuesday.

It was an interesting drive...The storm front was at my back, coming across the valley, slamming into the mountains.
