Most petroglyphs seem very enigmatic -
It's not clear who/what they are directed at, or what is being 'said' -
they almost overlap each other, there isn't any obvious consecutive narrative,
as we know it, going on.
This one is an exception - it's in Red Rock Canyon,
along the trail leading to 'Calico Tanks' & some 'tinaja',
which are recesses in the rocks that collect the sparse rainfall and hold it for
a nice long time.
Probably a good place to settle in, for a while, wouldn't you say?
So this one seems like a 'direction sign', to me.
